It's that time again! It's the time of visiting many different people and attending many different events. We had several Christmas parties to go to this weekend and had a great time. We took a cab to our friend's party on Saturday night, and although, as a family, we've travelled all over the place, you'd think my kids have never been in a taxi before. They were checking out all of the gizmos and gadgets they could find and it drove me nuts. But I got over it, and we had fun nonetheless.
We were hit with another snowstorm on Sunday, and I am somewhat disappointed I did not get another snowday today as I could use the time to mark and get some things together before the holidays. However, we are under a snowsquall watch, so a snowday tomorrow is not out of the realm of possibilities. When almost two-thirds of our student population is bused, snowdays are good as students don't come to school. I know I shouldn't be thinking this way, but I have a pile of marking sitting on my desk that needs to get done, and I could use the time to do it. Plus, driving in this weather is giving me a headache. We have a lot of snow already and it's not even officially winter yet. It does make the Christmas lights look really pretty at night, though!!!! We're going for a walk tonight to check out the Christmas lights and get into the festive season.
I am looking forward to two weeks of holidays at Christmas as I have a ton of reading to catch up on. I didn't get as much done this weekend as planned because of the various festivities and activities, but hopefully I will get more done this weekend. With two more parties to go however, we'll have to see.
What I Read This Week:
Last Exit in New Jersey by C.E. Grundler
Revolution by Jennifer Donnelly - I absolutely loved this book, but I adore reading anything about the French Revolution anyways and young adult, so this was right up my alley.
What I am Currently Reading:
Nightshade by Andrea Cremer
Indulgence in Death by J.D. Robb
Remarkable Creatures by Tracy Chevalier
What I am Planning on Reading:
To be honest, I don't really know at this point. I've got a pile of books that need to be reviewed, but I am in the mood for something that I really want to read for myself, so I might choose something off the shelf next week just for something different and give myself a break. I've been wanting to read Book 1 of Vampire Academy for a long time so I might just dig into that for fun.
I was sick over the weekend but I got some reading done.
ReplyDeleteMy husband thought he'd have a snow day today as well, but nope! I can't wait to get to Revolution.
ReplyDeleteMy kids are DYING for a snow day!! But only a few flakes here and there so far in Delaware.
ReplyDeleteSounds like you've read some good ones lately. I hope you get your snow day tomorrow so you can get caught up and maybe even enjoy some reading!
Sue
I wish I would have been paying attention to Revolution. It's gotten such great reviews and I love historical fiction.
ReplyDeleteHappy reading!
